The People Behind the Name

The brick-and-mortar offices of Addington McBride Financial Advisors on St Simons Island are the visible meeting spaces for a network of professional resources working together for our clients behind the scenes.

We access an extended roster of strategic partners via video and teleconferencing, and sit at the head of the virtual table.  Experts on the team operate from Manhattan to San Diego, to Boston to Georgia, to offer a sophisticated spectrum of financial analysis, research and solutions.

And affiliation with an independent broker-dealer means our recommendations aren't colored by sales quotas, pressure to sell certain products, or the cookie-cutter shape of a standard menu of fund choices.

We think that's a big deal.  Because it not only does it mean the resources supporting your portfolio run wide and deep, but your agenda is the only one driving the process when we're deciding with you what you need.

Beverly A. McBride, CDFA™

I founded Addington McBride Financial Advisors in 2009 to expand the practice begun with my original Atlanta, Georgia firm.  I wanted to pursue my passion for helping people feel confident and comfortable that all aspects of their financial lives were working together to take them where they dreamed of going.

One of my best moves as an Investment Advisor Representative was aligning with Commonwealth Financial Network., in 2017 and tapping into resources for my clients that are vast and deep!  Laura and I have an enormous stable of expertise to tap into for just about any scenario our clients throw at us, and we're super happy to offer a very high, boutique level of service.

In the past several years, I've also had a a lot of fun marrying my passion for this business with my passion for writing and speaking about it, and was asked to contribute to the Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch commentary podcasts, serve on American Funds Voice of the Advisor panel, and write articles on practical money matters for Golden Isles Magazine, as well as put out a monthly e-newsletter for clients and friends of AMFA.  In turn, I've been interviewed by Golden Isles Magazine, The Brunswick News, and OurNetNews, and have spoken to professional groups as well as private investment groups, which I love because who doesn't like to tell other people what to do!

After serving on the boards of the Glynn Art Association, The Remedy Project, and  as Teaching Director for The Arrow Factory Bible Study; and being active in the Symphony Society, a great two years on the board of the Literary Guild came to an end, and I was honored in early 2019 to be asked to serve on the board of Skylark, which is the new iteration of CareNet Pregnancy Center.  I had served as chair of the Child in Crisis Committee for the St. Simons Island Rotary Club for about 10 years, so am happy to be back in harness with an organization that is similarly hands-on in doing such practical work to help women in a tough time in their lives.  Skylark has a huge mission as an independent sexual health + care clinic for our region, and great things are on the horizon there.

I've wanted to involve Addington McBride Financial Advisors in giving back as well, so we've been a proud patron and sponsor of the 2017, 2018 & 2019 Wine, Women & Shoes event at Sea Island, which is even more fun than it sounds, benefiting Hospice of the Golden Isles.  My dad and so many friends received huge comfort from Hospice's wonderful kindness at the end of their lives, so that's been a privilege to try to help pay it forward for the benefit of somebody's else's dad and loved ones.

When I'm not coming up with new things to do to the fixer upper I bought in Sea Palms, I just might be found somewhere along the Black Banks River acting as gondolier in my kayak for Hackett, pictured below, whose life we should all be so lucky as to have.  (Thanks to Zach Gowen at Southeastern Adventures Outfitters, for snapping this pic!)
